Full-time, On-site

Director of Analytics

Rogers, AR

Position Overview

The Director of Analytics leads Engine's analytics team - the group that turns CPG and retail data into dashboards, reports, and recommendations for clients. The role is as much about the team as it is about the numbers: you build the people, process, and culture that let analysts and data scientists do their best work, then get out of the way and let them do it. You'll run the team's agile process, coach analysts through their career growth, own the analytics roadmap, and partner with product, engineering, sales, and client teams to turn business questions into analytical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of analytics professionals - run 1:1s that develop people, give direct feedback, and build a team culture where people want to stay and grow
  • Run the team's agile process end to end: sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups that move work forward
  • Practice servant leadership - clear obstacles, secure resources, and advocate for the team with other leaders
  • Facilitate delivery of the analytics roadmap - oversee the design and delivery of dashboards, reports, and performance metrics that guide client and internal decisions
  • Partner with product, engineering, sales, and client teams to translate business questions into analytical solutions and define the metrics that matter

Qualifications

  • 3+ years leading a team of analysts or data scientists, with direct people-management responsibility - hiring, coaching, performance management, career development
  • Demonstrated servant leadership: a track record of removing blockers, developing people, and putting team outcomes ahead of individual credit
  • Hands-on experience running agile processes for an analytics or data team - sprint planning, backlog management, retrospectives, stand-ups
  • A working view of analytics: comfortable reading a dashboard, questioning a metric definition, and following a team's reasoning from data to recommendation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work on-site in Rogers, AR and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a CPG, retail, or technology environment, setting team strategy and managing cross-functional initiatives
  • Practical experience building dashboards, reports, and performance metrics
  • Working knowledge of statistics and data science methods, including predictive modeling applied to business problems
  • Hands-on proficiency with SQL, Python or R, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field
