Business Intelligence Analyst

Engine is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to build and own reporting and dashboards for CPG and retail clients on Engine's SaaS Retail Analytics platform. We're evaluating candidates from BI Analyst I through Senior BI Analyst and will calibrate level and title to the candidate's experience.

• Write SQL (CTEs, joins, multi-source transformations) and build reusable data models and dashboards in Power BI or Excel-based reporting
• Own recurring reports and dashboards end to end (weekly sales, promotional lifts, out-of-stock, replenishment), ensuring reliability and consistency across delivery cycles
• Design and optimize data models for complex, high-volume retail use cases, and manage multiple concurrent projects as requirements shift
• Partner directly with CSMs, clients, or internal BI stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate ambiguous business questions into clear technical specs
• Document assumptions and logic, and ensure outputs follow approved metric definitions and established patterns
• Mentor junior analysts, review logic and code for accuracy and performance, and support onboarding of new hires
• Apply CPG and retail business knowledge (trade spend, pricing, assortment, POS, replenishment) to analyze sales trends and retailer performance

• 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data reporting (more for senior-level candidates)
• Strong SQL skills, including CTEs, joins, and multi-source data transformations
• Hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI or a comparable BI tool
• Experience translating business questions into technical requirements and communicating with non-technical stakeholders
• Comfort managing multiple concurrent projects and adapting to shifting requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to work on-site in Rogers, AR

• Experience with CPG or retail syndicated data (Scintilla, IRI, SPINS, Circana, retailer POS)
• DAX and advanced Power BI data modeling experience
• Experience mentoring junior analysts or leading code and logic reviews
